To own a Tibetan Terrier
This is what the TT have taught me:
1. Patience and self-control
2. My sense of humour has expanded
3. To forget all about total discipline!
4. Inner mental strength is better than yelling or using violence, it gives a better packleadership.
5. You often get the best result if you compromise.
6. Short rebukes gives better results.
7. Don't nag on a TT.
8. They have made me their slave.
9. Above all, they have taught me to have patience with everything!
10. To enjoy life!

Some advice...
If you want to live with a TT you have to have a lot of PATIENCE and HUMOUR!
The angrier you get the happier the TT gets.
”Come and get me games”, the younger TT:s love when you chase them! And if you can’t make them stop, they can be like that all their lives.
If you had another breed before you get a TT, you have to forget almost everything about how a dog behaves and how to act. Obedience, motivation, learning – it's all different with a TT than with other dogs.
They can be rowdy, curious and tease us...
If you want a dog who doesn’t jump up to the table or other places when you not are home or if you want a dog that always does as it’s told and just is there – then I don't recommend a TT.
A Tibetan Terrier wants to lie on high places to have a view. Windows is usually a popular place for them.
You say about TT that they are 1/3 dog, 1/3 cat and 1/3 human – you have to remember that!
Teach your TT from the beginning when it's a puppy to come when you call and be without a leash, if you want your grown up dog to listen when you call.
It's very easy to teach a TT new things. BUT, the question is if he/she wants to learn and when! If you manage to motivate your TT in the right way it will do what you want. That's something I just love with this breed!
A Tibetan Terrier develops all their life. You can teach them things when they are old.
You will never get bored with a TT by your side.
The TT’s are very social and likes to follow it's family everywhere, they are very loyal to the family and wants to be where the family are.
